sowing seeds for stronger communitites
Kanawha Community Gardens Association was organized in January 2011 under the supervision of John Porter, the Kanawha Co Extension Service agent for WVU and Angela Rexroad, VISTA. The Association was organized to fill a need in providing support, networking, and education to the expanding circle of community garden leaders and their members.
The first workshop offered by the Association was held Friday and Saturday, June 24th and 25th. Leaders from the American Community Garden Association, headquartered in Columbus, OH, came and taught the fine art of conducting a workshop . . .'training the trainer.'
